H.E. István Szabó, the Ambassador of Hungary visit @ MU

His Excellency István Szabó, the Ambassador of Hungary, played a significant role as the chief guest during the National Model United Nations Competition 2023 event organized by Marwadi University. The event was a prestigious gathering of young, aspiring diplomats, and international relations enthusiasts from various universities and institutions across the country. The Ambassador’s visit commenced with a welcome speech at the National Model United Nations Competition, where he shared his insights and experiences as a diplomat, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and the role of the United Nations in resolving global challenges.

Prof. Rhishikesh Dave - Erasmus+ Regional Cluster Meeting, Hanoi Vietnam

Prof. Rhishikesh Dave, Dean, Faculty of Law participated in the Erasmus+ Regional Cluster Meeting and contact-making seminar for Asia and Pacific on 29th and 30th November 2023 at Hanoi, Vietnam, organized by the European Commission. The seminar was attended by more than 150 delegates from various countries of Asia. The main agenda for the seminar was to spread awareness about various Erasmus+ programs and initiatives in which Asian Countries can participate and also it provided a platform for various universities and HEIs from across Asia, the Pacific, and Europe to meet and develop contacts to create partnerships for future Erasmus+ projects.

It was also a proud moment for us as one of the projects that we are currently working i.e. Climate Change Policy and Law was presented and discussed at length during the seminar.

Mr. KIMUTAI A. KEITANY visit @ MU

Mr. KIMUTAI A. KEITANY, Head of Coordination and Operations, Executive Office of the President State House, Kenya, recently had a Personal Visit to Rajkot. We invited Mr. Kimutai Keitany and Mr. Rana Pradyumansinh (a well-wisher of Marwadi University from Kenya) to visit our campus and converse about the Kenyan students and their future opportunities.

International Study Tour to Singapore & Malaysia

the International Relations department organized an International Study Tour to Singapore and Malaysia from 05th October to 11th October, 2023. The said study tour was organized to visit different universities in Singapore and Malaysia as follows.
  • PSB Academy, Singapore
  • Taylor’s University, Malaysia
Students also had a chance to go on excursion tours to various places in Singapore and Malaysia. They visited Universal Studio, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens By the Bay, etc. whereas in Malaysia students were able to visit PETRONAS Twin Towers, Batu Caves, Genting Highlands, etc. Also, they stayed at the First World Hotel at Genting Highlands.

Erasmus+ Faculty Exchange Program @ Pitesti University Center, Romania

Four faculties from Marwadi University, Dr Sejal Shah – Head of Department of Bioinformatics, Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Prof Kinjal Raval – Assistant Professor, Faculty of Computer Application; Dr Tapankumar Trivedi – Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology; and Dr Arjav Bavarva – Associate Professor, Department of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology performed face-to-face teaching staff mobility during 8th to 14th October, 2023 at National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, Pitesti University Center, Romania which was funded by Erasmus+.

Industrial Visit at Dubai & Abu Dhabi

The event was a combination of industrial and excursion tours where students visited two of the companies in Dubai together with many famous tourist attractions of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The companies visited include:
1) Sterling Perfumes Industries LLC, which is into manufacturing perfumes and cosmetics in Dubai Investment Park, Dubai.
2) Romana Water Industries LLC which processes and supplies potable water in the UAE. The students visited the manufacturing plants in both companies and met executives of HR and marketing departments for an interactive session.
The attractions visited in Dubai and Abu Dhabi include the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, Grand Mosque, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Dubai Mall, Emirates Mall, Desert Safari and traditional Dance, Boat Cruise, Palm Jumeirah Beach and Meena Bazaar

Dr. Kabore - African Researcher @ MU

Dr. Wendpanga Rodrigue Kabore from Burkina Faso attended the IEEE Humanitarian Region 10 Event in October Month and did his research in IoT applied to the Agriculture domain from 18th October to 26th October 2023 at Marwadi University under Faculty Exchange Activity.

Prof. Ronald Gieseke from Chicago Kent College of Law @ MU

From 16th to 27th October 2023, the Faculty of Law, Marwadi University, had the privilege of hosting Professor Ronald Gieseke for a comprehensive two-week lecture series on the “Introduction to the American Legal System” As a distinguished expert in the field, Professor Gieseke brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the students at Chicago-Kent, providing valuable insights into the intricacies of the American legal framework.

Dr. Krunal Vaghela @ BNTU, Romania as a Visiting Professor

Dr Krunal Vaghela recently had the opportunity to participate in a Visiting Professor Programme at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) in Minsk, Belarus. The exchange aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between faculties from different international institutions. BNTU, established in 1920, stands as one of the leading technical universities in Eastern Europe. During his visit, he engaged in various academic activities, including lectures, seminars, and collaborative research discussions. One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to collaborate on research projects with BNTU faculty members. The exchange facilitated the sharing of resources, methodologies, and perspectives, enhancing the quality and scope of ongoing research initiatives.

Prof. Dr. Rajendrasinh Jadeja's visit @ Geneva, Switzerland

Prof. Dr. Rajendrasinh Jadeja was invited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities at the XVI General Assembly and XIII International Seminar in Geneva, Switzerland from 22nd October to 27th October 2023. The event was held in collaboration with the Université de Genève – UNIGE and the International School of Geneva – ECOLINT, and centered on “Higher Education for Global Citizenship”.

Representatives from around 40 countries across five continents, including 100 Vice Chancellors from Brazilian Universities, attended the event. I gave a presentation about “Strategies & Policies Deployed at Marwadi University to Promote Equal Educational Opportunities in Higher Education” amidst this diverse assembly.

Mr. Fanuel Mathiya visit @ MU

Mr. Fanuel Mathiya, Minister Plenipotentiary (Trade Affairs) at the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania in New Delhi, visited Marwadi University for the International Youth Convention 2023. Following his inaugural speech at the convention, he was impressed by the diversity of the Marwadi University and amazed by the various stalls arranged by international students for the celebration.

Prof. Dr. Rajendrasinh Jadeja's visit @ Japan

Prof. Dr. Rajendrasinh Jadeja visited Okinawa, Japan. He aimed to strengthen research collaboration with Chiba University and explore avenues of opportunities for academic and cultural cooperation. I had discussed with Takako Hashimoto, the Vice President and Director of the International Center at Chiba University of Commerce, to enhance collaboration in student exchanges, cultural initiatives, technical projects, and educational activities. He also had a meeting with leaders of IEEE Region 10 to strategize on improving the quality of conferences and technical workshops and addressing emerging trends aligned with societal needs.

Jaime Chissico, National Director - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development @ MU

Jaime Chissico – National Director, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mozambique visited MU on 12th January 2024 during his Vibrant Gujarat visit at Rajkot. He met Prof. Dr. R. B. Jadeja and Mr. Naresh Jadeja with Dr. Nilesh Advani. He had a conversation with Dr. Kantha Devi Arunachalam, Dean of Science, and visited the Agriculture field of Marwadi like the Vermicompost field, and had a productive discussion about Agriculture development and he was happy to know our idea to collaborate with the Ministry to provide good education and resources to the students of Mozambique.

Erasmus+ Mobility Visit @ Bydgoszcz Polytechnic, Poland

Delegates from Marwadi University recently visited Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology in Poland upon invitation from them as part of the Erasmus+ Mobility program between 15th January to 21st January, 2024.
The visiting faculties were:
  • Dr. Madhu Shukla, Head of the CE-AI department,
  • Dr. Damodharan Palaniappan, Head of the IT department
During the visit, MU delegates had the opportunity to meet and discuss various agendas with officials from Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology. Those officials included Monika Wnęk, Head of The International Relations Office, Dr. Tomasz Marciniak, Vice Dean, Dr. Piotr Szewczykowski, and Ms. Aleksandra Mielczarek, Sr. Officer – the International Relations Office.

Universities Visit in Poland

From the 15th To the 21st of January 2024, Dr. Madhu Shukla and Dr. Damodharan Palaniappan visited different Poland Universities like:

4. WSG University Bydgoszcz

The agenda of the Visit was Relationship Building between Universities, Student Exchange Programmes, Faculty Exchange Programmes, and Research Collaborations and Dual Degree programs along with any kind of certificate programs between Marwadi University and the Universities of Poland.

Zimbabwe Presidential Scholasrhip delegates visit @ MU

Marwadi University was honored to host esteemed guests from the Zimbabwe Presidential & National Scholarship Department and the Embassy of Zimbabwe, New Delhi, from January 29th to February 1st, 2024.
The delegates are:
  • Mr. Phineas Manyange, Director of Finance at the Presidential & National Scholarship Department
  • Dr. Tendai Mavundutse, Director of Scholarship Administration at the Presidential & National Scholarship Department
  • Mr. Lovemore Ncube, Head of Chancery at the Zimbabwe Embassy in New Delhi
During their visit, the delegation had the opportunity to gain insights into the University’s offerings. They engaged with deans and directors across various departments, familiarized themselves with our UniRP software, and toured the university’s facilities.
In addition to their academic engagements, the delegation enjoyed a cultural visit to the renowned Girnar temple in Junagadh, where they experienced the Ropeway, further enriching their visit with a taste of local culture and heritage.

Global Partnership & Joint Research

Marwadi University has the vision to promote joint research, faculty, and student exchanges, create overseas job opportunities for international students and sensitize them to become global citizens.
Marwadi University is a member of EdCIL (Educational Consultants India Limited), a Miniratna – category I Public Sector Undertaking in India under the administrative control of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It actively takes part in its Flagship program called Study In India (SII). In 2019, the Institute was awarded the “High Performer Partner Institute Award” by EdCIL.

Recently EdCIL delegates visited Marwadi Education Foundation for the purpose of inspecting Study In India students who got admitted in the intake of 2020 – 21. The delegates who visited were Shri Sandeep Goel, Chief Financial Officer and Head (OES) – EdCIL along with Mr. Ashutosh Kumar, Mr. Anshul Gupta and Mr. Tarun as Officials of EdCIL.The purpose was to verify the admitted students under Marwadi Education Foundation in order to grant them for scholarship of upcoming year.

Marwadi University has entered into MoU with European Universities under European Union programs such as ERASMUS+ that offer faculty and student exchanges. Further, the University also connects with like-minded overseas institutes and enters into partnerships for promoting joint research projects and teaching-learning aspects. The University has 40 active international MoU as of 26th Feb 2024.

Faculty of Law, Marwadi University along with six other Universities submitted a proposal for the development of Post Graduate program in “International Law and Forced Migration Studies” which was selected for funding by ERASMUS+ KA2CBHE (ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education). A cumulative grant of € 9.2 lacs is sanctioned for the project. Only 2 law schools from the entire country are part of this project. A grant of € 9.9 Lakhs is sanctioned by ERASMUS+ KA2CBHE (ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education) for the development of Post Graduate program in “Climate Change Policy and Law” by the Faculty of Law at Marwadi University.

“Faculty of Law, Marwadi University is a partner Institution in an Erasmus+ Project on Curricula Development on Climate Change, Policy and Law (CCP Law) along with nine other partner institutions from Asia and Europe. The Faculty of Law, Marwadi University hosted the 3rd face-to-face project meeting from January 30 – February 3, 2023. Total 32 Participants from University of Girona, Coventry University, European Knowledge Spot, Universiti Utara Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia, Hue University, Hanoi Law University, PEDMEDE, Symbiosis International University, and Marwadi University.

Discussion and deliberations among participants took place on the work done, work progress, issues and challenges of the project. The participants took concrete decisions pertaining to development of curricula for a masters’ level programme on Climate Change, Policy and Law. The Centre for Climate Change, Policy & Law was inaugurated at Marwadi University during this project meeting, which will facilitate focused research in the area of Climate Change, Policy and Law.”

Industry and Trade

Based on the collaboration with various Hungary Universities and the diversity on campus, the Embassy of Hungary decided to organize Hungary Day at Marwadi University and created a Market Place to showcase life in Hungary. The Ambassador of Hungary and officials of the University remained present for the discussion. Officials from Mozambique organized trade meetings with businessmen of the Rajkot region for the opportunity to do business with Mozambique.
